OPG Vela Maštrinka is a century-old family farm rooted in the sun-drenched stone of island Brač. What began as a vineyard over 100 years ago has grown into a living heritage of olives and wild herbs, shaped by resilience and tradition. From our olives, we craft pure extra virgin olive oil and soothing olive leaf tea, while our herbs—grown in scarce karst soil under endless sunshine—burst with an intensity of aroma and flavor found nowhere else. Once sold to cooperatives for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic trade, today we handcraft them into teas, natural products, and treasures that carry the essence of Brač itself.

OPG Vela Maštrinka is more than a farm—it is the story of a family and a landscape intertwined for over a century.

Our roots stretch back to the early 1900s, when the land was mostly vineyard, with olives and aromatic herbs scattered around the stone terraces. Then came the wine disease that swept across Europe, forcing many families, including ours, to adapt. It was during this time that olives and herbs became the heart of our fields and our livelihood. From olives, we produce extra virgin olive oil—rich, golden, and full of the island’s character. We also harvest olive leaves, traditionally used as a tea to support wellbeing and lower blood pressure. Our herbs, once gathered for the local cooperative and destined for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, are today transformed by our hands into teas, aromatic blends, and natural products that celebrate both tradition and craft.
